Soy in Capanema is waist-high and ripe: the first organic farmers could already harvest their fields.

The producers and gebana Brazil hold their breath. Is organic production in Capanema going to survive? Only if this year’s soy does not contain any traces of Endosulfan, it can be sold as organic food and make up for the losses of 500’000 CHF last year.

The analysis of the first samples rise hopes: there are indeed traces of Endosulfan but they are below the legally permitted limit value. The following two weeks will show whether our efforts were successful and the conventional farmers have effectively used less Endosulfan.
